HEC takes assessment test from affiliated colleges' students at SU to evaluate their general abilities
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad held an assessment test for students studying in the affiliated colleges of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro here on Wednesday.
The test evaluated students' general abilities in three crucial areas, which included information management, communication skills and problem-solving expertise.
The assessment test was held at the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Commerce & Management simultaneously, in which 300 students enrolled in AD, BA, BSc, B. Com & BCS programs in the affiliated colleges of the University of Sindh Jamshoro participated in the test.
Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Altaf Nizamani expressed satisfaction over the test's execution, highlighting its importance in identifying and fostering critical skills in students.
Consultant for the Higher Education Development Program (HEDP) Dr. Arshad Bashir led the HEC team that took the test.
He said the test was aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of students' cognitive abilities.
"This broad evaluation was distinct from the aspect that it was not limited to specific subjects but it focused on essential skills necessary for academic and professional success", he said.
Later, the HEC team called on the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro at his office, who appreciated the steps taken by the HEC to collaborate with the universities in strengthening capacity-building measures of affiliated colleges.
