Nebula Riff crowned champion in Sindh University Moot Court Finals
The Department of Law, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, concluded its three-day Moot Court Competitions on Friday with a thrilling final in the Auditorium of Benazir Bhutto Convention Centre, where team Nebula Riff emerged victorious over Quantum Shield in a fierce courtroom contest.
Before a five-member bench, both teams impressed the judges with sharp arguments, legal precedents and skilled advocacy. Ultimately, Nebula Riff was declared champion.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman Khoumbati, who attended as chief guest, said moot courts played a vital role in preparing law students for real-world practice.
“Just as lab experiments train scientists, moot competitions prepare law students to ask questions, argue cases, recall precedents and refine the art of advocacy,” he remarked.
He added that the competitions also instilled discipline, confidence and professional ethics in the students.
Guest of honour Justice Abdul Rasool Memon urged students to embrace critical thinking, teamwork and creativity to adapt to change.
Dean Faculty of Law Ahmed Luqman Memon described moot competitions as a practical training ground for mastering legal techniques, while Department Chairman Danish Bashir Mangi reaffirmed his commitment to raising the department to international standards.
The three-day competition featured 10 teams and concluded with distribution of trophies and certificates among winners. The event brought together a large audience, including members of the Law Mooting Society, lawyers, teachers and students.
