Sindh University signs MoU with Al-Asar Welfare Organization for disability inclusion, research

The University of Sindh and Al-Asar Welfare Organization (AAWO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote collaboration in disability rehabilitation, inclusive education, research and community welfare initiatives.

Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri and President Al-Asar Welfare Organization Imdad Ali out their signatures on the MoU at a ceremony held in the VC office on Monday.

Under the agreement, both institutions will jointly work on student internships, research projects, training programmes, workshops, and awareness campaigns aimed at empowering persons with disabilities.

The MoU also provides opportunities for Sindh University students to gain practical experience through placements at AAWO rehabilitation centres.

The partnership seeks to strengthen academic-practice linkages, support disability-focused research, facilitate assistive devices for eligible students and promote inclusive practices across educational and community settings.

The two organisations also agreed to organise joint events and capacity-building activities to advance the welfare and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
