Rs 120 million distributed among 1300 deserving SU students, more amount to be transferred into their bank accounts, says Director SFAO Dr Mushtaque Jariko
Sindh University's Director Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko has informed that recently more than 300 eligible students have submitted their bank account details for receiving amounts under Benazir Ehsaas Scholarship in its first and second phase.
He said that a total of Rs 120 million had been distributed among 1300 deserving male and female students of the University of Sindh Jamshoro in 1st and 2nd phase of Benazir Ehsaas scholarship.
In his performance report issued here on Tuesday, Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko said that the Vice-Chancellor University of Sindh Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro had recently interacted with the authorities of Endowment Funds Scholarship convincing them to expedite the process of distribution of funds so that the flood affected deserving students could be assisted.
He said that the Vice-Chancellor was very active and trying to provide various scholarships to the eligible male and female students of the varsity adding that the authorities of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad had also been asked by Dr Kalhoro to approve the list of Ehsaas Scholarship Phase 3 and release the money in no time in a bid to help the eligible students in time.
He said that on the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor, a meeting for the distribution of the Students Welfare Fund will be called soon with the consultation of the Director Finance Office so that the amount of scholarship might be provided to the needy and eligible students as soon as possible.
Dr. Jariko went on saying that the intelligent and meritorious students studying in different disciplines of the University of Sindh should rest assured that the poverty or monetary perturbation as a result of recent flash floods will not be allowed to hinder their higher education and they will be propped up in every possible way from the platform of the Alma Mater.
He said that the youth who received the scholarship should study with hard work and dedication in order to yield better results in the field of higher education.
