SU holds Int’l Milad Conference

A one-day international Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference was organized by the Institute of Languages (Arabic & Persian), University of Sindh, Jamshoro in collaboration with the Bureau of Students’ Tutorial, Guidance/Counseling Services, and Co-Curricular Activities (STAGS) here on Thursday.

The event took place in the auditorium of the Institute of Commerce & Management. Speakers highlighted the personality and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), shedding light on the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. Faculty members and students added to the beauty of the conference by reciting Naats.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro urged the students and faculty to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in true spirit.

He said that the life of the Holy Prophet was the best example for all human beings to lead a successful life. He stressed the importance of practically following the Quran and Sunnah, advising the youth to live their lives according to these teachings.

The Vice-Chancellor also said that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught tolerance, peace, modesty, honesty and justice. He highlighted various aspects of the Prophet’s life and stressed the need to follow Islamic principles to achieve success in both this world and the hereafter.

Dean Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Muhammad Khan Sangi advised students and faculty to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), considering them a “guiding light” to overcome current challenges.

He emphasized the need to propagate the message of love and compassion for humanity as taught by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He also pointed out that the Prophet (PBUH) established a just society where every individual, regardless of their wealth or social status, could live with dignity.

Chairman Department of Political Science Professor Dr. Ghulam Akbar Mahesar stressed that the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) encouraged his followers to speak out against oppression and support marginalized communities, which was an essential part of their faith.

He remarked that in today’s world, where division and oppression were on the rise, it was vital to spread the message of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which embodied love, tolerance and human rights.

Dr. Mahesar further added that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) treated all individuals, regardless of their faith, with respect and dignity. “And we must follow this path to promote global brotherhood, justice and love”, he said.

Chairman, Department of Sindhi Professor Dr. Noor Muhammad Shah said that the blessed life, noble character and exemplary conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) served as a beacon of light for all humanity.

He highlighted that every word and deed of the Prophet (PBUH) demonstrated how human beings could achieve prosperity by upholding the universal principles of love, tolerance and justice.

He further emphasized that the Prophet (PBUH) instilled the values of unity, love and brotherhood in his followers, which were essential for overcoming social and economic challenges.

Professor Dr. Mazhar Mehmood Alvi from Minhaj University Lahore stressed the importance of supporting the poor and those suffering from hunger and poverty, while adopting the habit of helping others. He encouraged everyone to use this occasion to resolve differences and work together for the progress and prosperity of the beloved country.

In his virtual address, Dr. Munir Ahmed Azhari from the UK highlighted the need for a coordinated education system that provided both religious and worldly knowledge.

He said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the perfect example of high morals and values and following his teachings was the key to success for all Muslims.

Dr. Asad Ali Azhari from Al-Azhar University Egypt shed light on the significance of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal and urged people to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

On this occasion, faculty members Muhammad Saqib Buriro, Dr. Jabeen Bhutto, Dr. Bushra Memon and several students recited Naats.
