SU, NAPA agree to explore academic partnership in social sciences, penology
The University of Sindh (SU) and the National Academy for Prisons Administration (NAPA) agreed to explore an academic partnership in the field of correctional sciences and penology.
This decision was taken during a meeting between the SU Register Prof Dr Mushtaque Ali Jariko and the Director General NAPA Azhar Rashid. Chairman Department of Criminology Dr Abdul Waheed Abbasi was also present on the occasion.
The DG NAPA called on the SU Registrar at his office to discuss the possibility of initiating a joint venture in venues of academic partnership in the different departments of the faculty of arts and social sciences and the faculty of law.
They agreed to begin the partnership with the faculty of law, department of criminology, social work, sociology, and psychology and decided other departments would be included later.
Afterwards, the Registrar Dr Jariko took him to the Department of Criminology where the DG NAPA met a group of students and addressed them on the scope of research activities on correctional science and penology.
