First Provincial Chess Tournament held at SU's Law Department
In a collaborative effort between the Hyderabad and Jamshoro Chess Associations, the University of Sindh's Law Department hosted the first provincial chess tournament, in whichever 30 players from different Universities and colleges participated.
In a highly competitive final match, Azhar Akhund emerged victorious after a tough contest against Sarfraz Ahmed.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Director Sports at the University of Sindh, Ajwed Bhatti praised the efforts of the Head of the Law Department Danish Mangi and the Chairperson of the Sports Committee, Arun Barkat for organizing such an outstanding provincial-level activity in the newly opened Law Department in Jamshoro.
He highlighted that chess enhanced problem-solving skills, future planning, memory and quick thinking.
