SU final-year students display 136 projects during exhibition

As many as 136 final-year projects were put on display at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of Sindh on Tuesday when Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri along with Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof Dr Lachhman Das Dhomeja inaugurated the Final Year Projects Exhibition-2026 (FYPE).

Organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the exhibition marked the culmination of students’ academic learning, technical competence, innovation and sustained effort across several undergraduate programs including BE Electronics Engineering, BE Telecommunication Engineering, BS Information Technology and BS Software Engineering.

The exhibition featured more than 136 projects representing a wide spectrum of contemporary and emerging technological domains especially mental health, AI robot, cyber security and AI related other projects. In Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, over a dozen projects focused on cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, green energy solutions and electrical power optimization.

Likewise, the Departments of Software Engineering and Information Technology jointly showcased over 124 projects from both morning and evening programmes. These projects covered diverse areas including web and mobile application development, agentic AI systems, digital twin technology, healthcare information systems, robotics, 3D simulation, gamification, cloud computing and augmented and virtual reality.

After inaugurating the exhibition, the vice-chancellor visited each project in sequence and received briefings from student teams regarding their concepts, design and practical applications.

Speaking to students on the occasion, Dr Marri said the successful completion and quality of the projects reflected the dedicated supervision, technical mentoring and academic guidance provided by final-year project supervisors.

He noted that supervisors had played a key role in problem formulation, system design, implementation oversight and quality assurance, while also encouraging innovation, ethical practices and real-world solutions aligned with industry needs.

“I appreciate the students and their supervisors for presenting innovative ideas, as each project has the potential for marketing,” the vice-chancellor said.

He emphasized the need to focus on the commercialization of such projects for the benefit of society and called for stronger collaboration between the university and industry to translate academic ideas into practical solutions.

Bukhari Postgraduate Centre of Information and Communication Technology Prof Dr Kamran Taj Pathan, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof Dr Naheed Kaka, Director Dr M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry Prof Dr Arfana Mallah, Syndicate member Prof Umeed Ali Rind, Controller of Semester Examinations Muhammad Mashooque Siddiqui, Director Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science Prof Dr Ayaz Keerio, Dr Mudasir Memon, Dr Arifa Bhutto, Dr Asif Ali Jamali and faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology were present on the occasion.
