OGDCL CSR team explores development projects at Sindh University
A delegation from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) visited the University of Sindh, Jamshoro on Wednesday to review potential development initiatives aimed at improving student facilities and campus infrastructure.
The delegation led by Regional Coordinator Imam Ali Abbasi along with Senior CSR Officer Abid Gaho held meetings with university officials and conducted site inspections at various facilities.
During the visit, the team met the Provost Sindh University Boys’ Hostels Punhal Khan Lashari, Deputy Provost Hisamuddin Mirani and Administrative Officer Sultan Ahmed Baloch. Discussions focused on identifying areas where CSR support could help improve hostel facilities and student welfare.
The delegation carried out detailed inspections of both boys’ and girls’ hostels to assess the feasibility of installing Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to ensure the supply of safe drinking water. Proposals regarding improvement of medical facilities at the boys’ hostels were also reviewed.
The CSR team also visited the university’s PCB cricket ground, where they discussed plans for its up-gradation. During the visit, they met Deputy Director Sports Ajved Bhatti and reviewed the facility’s infrastructure.
Later, the delegation visited the Centre of Pure and Applied Geology and held a meeting with its director Rafique Ahmed Lashari to discuss the solarization of the centre’s building and other infrastructural support.
After completing the inspections, the delegation called on the Vice-Chancellor Fateh Muhammad Marri. Regional Coordinator Imam Ali Abbasi reaffirmed OGDCL’s commitment to supporting educational institutions through sustainable development and community-focused CSR initiatives.
Dr Marri appreciated the company’s interest in improving university facilities and said such partnerships could play an important role in enhancing the learning environment and welfare of students.
