8,676 young people appeared for the University of Sindh entry test for a brighter future

The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has successfully completed the first phase of the pre-entry test for admission to Bachelor’s Degree Programmes for the new academic year 2027. A total of 8,676 male and female candidates from various districts of Sindh appeared in the first phase of the test, choosing the University of Sindh for their bright future.

Comprehensive arrangements were made for the convenience of the candidates, along with strict security measures at the test venues. A press briefing was also organised at the Institute of Arts and Design, where Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari briefed the print and electronic media about the test arrangements, the number of candidates, measures taken to improve the University’s academic standards and future strategies.

Addressing the media, the Vice Chancellor welcomed all candidates who had come to appear in the test and said that the increasing number of candidates seeking admission every year was proof of the trust placed in the University by them and their parents.

He said that the University of Sindh was an excellent choice for candidates, as it was providing quality education in important fields at very low fees, along with hostel accommodation and transport facilities. He said that the University offered ample opportunities for scholarships on the basis of need and merit, from which thousands of students were benefiting.

He said that the University of Sindh was a long-established university in the country, producing thousands of talented and competent young people every year and sending them into the practical field to serve the country.

The Vice Chancellor said that the University of Sindh had its own Testing Centre, which had been conducting entry tests with utmost transparency and complete confidentiality for several years and announcing the results on the same day.

He said that the test was conducted in two phases to facilitate candidates and improve arrangements. In the first phase, candidates from distant districts were given the opportunity to appear in the test, while candidates from nearby districts were included in the second phase. Candidates seeking admission to different campuses were also provided with the opportunity to take the test at their respective campuses.

The Vice Chancellor informed the journalists that a total of 22,511 candidates had applied online for both phases of the test, including 16,237 male and 6,274 female candidates. He said that a total of 8,676 candidates were appearing in the first phase, including 6,857 male and 1,819 female candidates.

The Vice Chancellor said that the entire test process was computerised and that the system would prepare the results according to the papers attempted by the candidates, leaving no room whatsoever for injustice. He said that candidates appearing in the test and their parents should have complete confidence that the entire admission process was based on complete transparency and merit, and that every candidate would be granted admission strictly according to the merit achieved.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts and commitment of the conveners of various committees formed for the pre-entry test arrangements and said that the successful completion of the first phase of the test was the result of joint teamwork.

He thanked all the journalists who attended the briefing for their participation and positive media coverage of the University, saying that these higher education institutions were centres of hope for the younger generation and a means of fulfilling the dreams of their parents. He stressed the need for playing a collective role in enhancing the reputation and development of these institutions.

At the press briefing, Pro Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Main Campus Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah, Pro Vice Chancellor Thatta Campus Prof. Dr. Misbah Bibi Qureshi, Pro Vice Chancellor Dadu Campus Prof. Dr. Anila Naz Soomro, Registrar University of Sindh Sajid Qayoom Memon, Director Admissions Dr. Ayaz Keerio, Convener Pre-Entry Test Coordination Committee Prof. Dr. Arfana Begum Mallah, as well as conveners and members of various committees, including Dr. Panhal Khan Lashari, Prof. Amar Sindhu, Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangi, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Dr. Rabia Asma Memon and others, were also present.

After the press briefing, the Vice Chancellor, accompanied by the Pro Vice Chancellors, visited different blocks and reviewed the ongoing test process. Deans of various faculties also supervised the examination process and visited the blocks.

The test started at 10:00 a.m. and continued for 90 minutes, concluding at 11:30 a.m.

The Vice Chancellor also met the parents accompanying the candidates. They appreciated the arrangements made by the University of Sindh and thanked the Vice Chancellor for providing excellent facilities at the waiting areas.

In the first phase of the entry test, candidates from the districts of Karachi, Sanghar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, kanbar Shahdadkot, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Khairpur, Matiari, Naushahro Feroze, Shikarpur and Sukkur appeared in the test.

On the occasion of the entry test, the Transport Department of the University of Sindh provided transport facilities to candidates from Hyderabad, Kotri, Jamshoro and nearby areas. Separate entry routes were designated for male and female candidates, where a team of more than 200 volunteers was present to guide the candidates.

The University’s Mini Hospital also established medical camps at the examination blocks as well as at various locations outside, where teams of qualified doctors, essential medicines for emergency medical assistance and ambulances were available.

The University of Sindh’s boys’ and girls’ hostels also provided accommodation facilities to more than 1,000 candidates and their parents who had arrived from various districts to appear in the test.
