University of Sindh Sets Entry Test Passing Score at 33; Offers Another Opportunity to Candidates for Vacant Seats

he University of Sindh has set the passing score for the recently conducted pre-entry test for admission to bachelor’s degree programmes for the academic year 2027 at 33. The decision was taken at an important meeting of the university’s Admission Committee, chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri (TI).

The meeting was held at the Senate Hall of the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat and attended by members of the Admission Committee, including pro vice chancellors of the university’s campuses, deans of faculties and heads of various departments.

The committee also decided that, after completion of the first phase of admissions and announcement of the merit lists, vacant seats in departments would be advertised to provide candidates who had not secured admission another opportunity to apply and appear in the entry test.

Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri said that the passing score for the entry test had been increased by 9 per cent compared with the previous year to improve admission standards.

He said that the University of Sindh was the second-oldest university in the country and that its excellent academic environment attracted more than 22,000 applicants for admission every year. The university offered admission to students from all segments of society strictly on merit against the seats allocated to its various departments.

He further stated that the university’s admission system is fully computerised and 100 per cent transparent, leaving no room for injustice against any candidate.

The Vice Chancellor said that studying at the University of Sindh not only enhanced students’ knowledge but also contributed to their personality development. He added that after four years of study at the university, a student’s personality underwent a complete transformation and acquired a new dimension.

He said the university was committed to providing maximum opportunities to young people, particularly female students. With this objective in mind, the committee had decided to offer another opportunity to aspiring candidates to apply for admission against seats remaining vacant after completion of the first phase.

The Vice Chancellor advised parents to encourage their children, particularly their daughters, to apply during the second phase of admissions so that they could benefit from this new opportunity at the University of Sindh and work towards a brighter future.

He welcomed all members of the Admission Committee and appreciated their valuable cooperation throughout the entry test and admission process.

Earlier, Director Admissions Dr. Ayaz Keerio briefed the Vice Chancellor on the number of seats available at the university’s main campus and other campuses, including seats allocated under general merit, self-finance and various quota categories.

Meanwhile, Director of the Sindh University Testing Centre Dr. Aftab Ahmed Chandio provided a detailed briefing on the total number of male and female applicants, the number of candidates who appeared for or remained absent from both phases of the entry test, the candidates who secured top positions with higher scores, and the overall test results.
