Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sindh University Laar Campus Badin Professor Dr. Khalil ur Rehman Khoumbhati has officially assumed the charge as Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sindh Jamshoro here on Wednesday. The outgoing Vice-Chancellor Professor Emeritus Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro handed over the charge to him in a simple yet dignified ceremony.

The handover ceremony was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Main Campus Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah, Registrar Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko, Director Dr. M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry Prof. Dr. Arfana Begum Mallah, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh, Director of the Institute of Business Administration Prof. Dr. Imamuddin Khoso, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Thatta Campus Prof. Dr. Misbah Bibi Qureshi and several other academic and administrative heads. 

After assuming charge, Prof. Dr. Khalil ur Rehman Khoumbhati and other attendees offered a joint prayer for the betterment and welfare of the institution. Faculty members and officers gathered in large numbers to congratulate him on his new role. 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khoumbhati stated that he would continue the commendable policies of his predecessor Dr. Siddique Kalhoro, while ensuring stricter measures in financial matters to guarantee the transparent utilization of the university’s resources. 

The appointment of the new Acting Vice-Chancellor has been welcomed with enthusiasm by the university's faculty and staff, who expressed hope that under the leadership of newly appointed VC, the institution will achieve new heights of progress and development.

On the other hand, following the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khoumbhati visited the mausoleum of the founding Vice-Chancellor of Sindh University Allama I.I. Kazi, where he laid a floral wreath and offered Fatiha.
