SU Vice-Chancellor inaugurates student card scanning system at boys’ hostels
Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Marri alongside academic & administrative staff on Wednesday inaugurated the student card scanning system, which was installed at the main gate of the Sindh University Boys’ Hostels.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Main Campus, deans, directors, chairpersons and heads of academic departments, the registrar, faculty members, deputy provosts (academic and administration) and hostel staff attended The inaugural ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor Dr Fateh Marri emphasized the importance of modern technology in ensuring transparency, safety and efficient campus management.
He stated that the university administration was committed to providing a secure and conducive environment for students, particularly those residing in hostels.
He further remarked that such initiatives reflect the university’s broader vision of digitizing administrative systems and improving service delivery.
He directed the relevant authorities to ensure the effective implementation and continuous monitoring of the system for optimal results.
He appreciated the efforts of the provost, deputy provosts, Director ITSC and hostel staff for their proactive measures to improve hostel administration and student facilities.
Provost Boys’ Hostels Dr Punhal Khan Lashari highlighted a series of recent administrative and developmental initiatives aimed at improving hostel management, security, discipline and residential facilities.
He described the installation of the card scanning system as a significant step towards strengthening security and streamlining administrative processes.
He said the system would facilitate the identification of officially allotted residents and ensure proper maintenance of entry and exit records.
He added that it would also help prevent unauthorized access by non-resident students and outsiders, thereby enhancing overall discipline and security within the hostel premises.
