Professor Dr Syed Raza Shah of IT Department, University of Sindh retired from service on Friday after attaining his superannuation.

To honor his contributions, his colleagues arranged a farewell ceremony at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, where Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khalil-Ur-Rehman Khoumbhati, former Vice-Chancellor Professor (Emeritus) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro and faculty members participated.

On the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Khoumbhati and other dignitaries presented Professor Shah with Sindh’s traditional Ajrak and cap as a token of respect. In his remarks, Dr. Khoumbhati praised the retiring professor for his unwavering dedication to education, describing him as a "beacon of knowledge and mentorship."

He said that Professor Dr Syed Raza Shah’s commitment to academic excellence had left an indelible mark on the institution. “His guidance has shaped the careers of countless students and will be remembered for years to come”, he said.

Former VC Dr. Kalhoro also acknowledged the contributions of Professor Shah and highlighted his expertise and role in fostering an environment of learning and innovation.

Colleagues of the retiring professor expressed their gratitude and admiration for his long-standing services. They shared fond memories, commending his professionalism, humility and support for both students and fellow teachers.
