Sindh University sets December 3 as commencement date for second-semester examinations
A high-level meeting chaired by Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri on Monday resolved that the second-semester examinations for all disciplines will commence from December 3, 2025.
The meeting brought together Pro-Vice Chancellors (PVCs), focal persons, deans and academic as well as administrative heads to review classroom conduct, students’ attendance, departmental progress and overall examination readiness.
Addressing the session, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Marri reaffirmed that the university would make no compromise on academic standards, teaching quality or research culture.
He reiterated that 75% attendance would remain a mandatory requirement for students to appear in examinations.
He instructed the PVCs, deans and heads of departments to strictly monitor classroom attendance and ensure that students attend classes consistently instead of wasting valuable time in canteens or outside academic blocks.
“For academic improvement and excellence, enforcing 75% attendance in every discipline is essential,” he said, stressing the need for a stronger classroom culture to enhance the teaching–learning environment.
“Expanding on the university’s commitment to academic standards, high-quality teaching and punctuality must be ensured in every department”, he said and added that research activities should also be strengthened through seminars, workshops and faculty–student engagement.
During the meeting, participants were invited to present their viewpoints regarding the conduct of second-semester examinations. After detailed deliberations, the house unanimously agreed to start the exams on December 3, 2025.
According to a detailed circular issued by the Controller of Semester Examinations Muhammad Mashooque Siddiqui after the meeting, students from all campuses, faculties and institutes are required to submit their online examination forms between November 21 and December 2, 2025 through the LMS portal.
Improver and failure candidates must download their fee challans via their LMS accounts and deposit them through HBL Konnect or I-Bill–supported banking channels before completing their online forms.
The circular further stated that only students with 75% attendance will be permitted to download and print their examination slips. All departments have been directed to update student attendance records on LMS by November 30, 2025. Meanwhile, ex-students seeking to improve their grades must possess a minimum CGPA of 2.00 to qualify.
The Controller also cautioned that examination slips will not be issued to students who had not deposited admission fees for higher classes for the 2025 academic year, rendering them ineligible to appear in the examinations.
The circular added that the schedule for students of the former campuses at Larkana and Mirpurkhas—now functioning as separate universities—will be released later for the 2023 and old batches only.
