The University of Sindh, Jamshoro on Tuesday witnessed a touching and uplifting moment as 180 deserving students of different disciplines received scholarship cheques under the Sindh Educational Endowment Fund (SEEF) with a total amount of Rs. 9.2 million distributed during a special ceremony.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Sattar Shah representing the Vice-Chancellor handed over the cheques to the deserving students at a ceremony held in Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium, Arts Faculty Building.

PVC Dr Shah warmly congratulated the scholarship recipients and said that financial assistance played a vital role in opening the doors of higher education for talented but underprivileged students.

He said that such initiatives not only reduced the financial burden on families but also motivated students to focus fully on their studies.

He further said that education was the strongest tool for social change and national development, adding that students must value this support and use it as a stepping stone toward academic excellence.

The PVC emphasized that the University of Sindh was committed to promoting merit and inclusivity, ensuring that no capable student was deprived of higher education at the campus due to financial constraints.

He advised students to remain disciplined, hardworking and ethical in their academic journey and encouraged them to give back to society after completing their education by serving the community and the country with honesty and dedication.

On the occasion, SU Registrar Sajid Qayoom Memon said that the scholarship ceremony was actually a sign of Alma Mater’s student-friendly policies and its continuous efforts to support deserving learners.

He stated that the administration was working tirelessly to strengthen welfare-oriented initiatives for students.

He added that transparent procedures were followed in the selection process to ensure fairness and merit.

The Registrar appreciated the SEEF program for supporting higher education across Sindh and expressed hope that such financial assistance would help students complete their degrees with confidence and dignity.

Incharge Director Student Financial Aid Office Mian Ahmed Alim Pasha said that the SEEF scholarships were awarded strictly on merit after a thorough scrutiny process.

He explained that detailed interviews were conducted to assess the financial conditions and academic performance of applicants and added that transparency and merit remain the top priorities of his office in the scholarship distribution process.

Chairman Department of Muslim History Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali Leghari, Arts Faculty Building Incharge Professor Dr. Sikandar Ali Soomro, Syndicate member Umeed Ali Rind, Dr. Shazia Abbasi, Dr Mubarak Ali Lashari, Mr Ajved Bhatti, Mr. Qamar Nangraj and Mr. Abdul Rafay Memon were also present at the ceremony.
