SU Faculty of Engineering showcases 136 innovative projects at FYP Exhibition 2026

Sindh University’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) on Tuesday organized its Final Year Project (FYP) Exhibition 2026, where graduating students displayed a wide range of innovative technological solutions developed during their final academic year.

The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri, who opened the event through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Heads of various departments of FET, teachers and a large number of undergraduates hailing from various departments were present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of students for presenting their research and development projects.

A total of 136 projects were exhibited by students from different departments of the faculty. Many of the projects focused on emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, robotics, automation and modern software solutions. Several projects also addressed mental health challenges through AI-based systems and robotic solutions, which reflected the growing role of technology in addressing real-world social issues.

During the exhibition, students explained their work to the Vice-Chancellor Dr Fateh Marri and they highlighted the research, experimentation and teamwork involved in developing the projects. The event provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their technical abilities, exchange ideas and gain confidence by presenting their work before academic experts.

Speaking on the occasion, VC Dr Marri said such exhibitions played an important role in preparing students for professional careers in the technology and engineering sectors by encouraging innovation and practical problem-solving.

According to the organizers, the Department of Telecommunication Engineering presented six projects developed by 12 students, which were evaluated by two expert reviewers. The projects covered diverse areas including two Internet of Things (IoT)–based systems, one Artificial Intelligence project, one cybersecurity solution, one computer vision application and one biometric-based system.

The Department of Software Engineering displayed a large number of projects, including 41 projects from the morning programme and 17 from the evening programme. These projects explored key domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing (NLP), mobile application development, web development, gamification and cloud computing.

Meanwhile, the Department of Information Technology presented 30 projects from its evening programme, covering areas including Artificial Intelligence, mobile application development, web development, Internet of Things (IoT) and healthcare systems.
