Loudspeakers banned on Sindh University campus to ensure academic environment

The administration of the University of Sindh has imposed a ban on the use of loudspeakers on campus, citing the need to maintain a peaceful and conducive academic atmosphere.

According to an official circular issued by the Advisor Students' Matters & Services Dr Muhammad Younis Laghari, students and faculty members have been strictly prohibited from bringing loudspeakers onto the campus or playing them at high volume.

The circular states that the decision aims to preserve the academic environment and ensure that teaching and learning activities continue without disruption. However, the administration has allowed limited use of sound systems for official programmes, subject to prior approval.

In such cases, the concerned head of the institute, department or centre must submit a formal request to the office of the Advisor Students' Matters and Services before using any audio equipment.
