University of Sindh Student Secures First Position Among National Top Achievers of HEC National Skill Competency Test 2026

Mr. Zain-ul-Abden, son of Mr. Muhammad Qasim, Roll No. 2K23/NFIT/21, a student of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (4-Year Programme), Khan Bahadur Syed Allahndo Shah Sindh University Campus NaushehroFeroze, University of Sindh, Jamshoro and a resident of District Naushahro Feroze, has distinguished himself at the national level in the National Skill Competency Test (NSCT) 2026 conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
Mr. Zain-ul-Abden secured the 1st Position in the National Merit List of Top 17 Achievers, obtaining an exceptional score of 97 out of 100 with a 100th Percentile ranking. This extraordinary performance is a source of immense pride for the University of Sindh and is a testament to the academic rigour, technical competence, and competitive calibre of its students in the field of Information Technology.
The NSCT 2026 is a major national initiative launched under the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to establish the country's first standardised benchmark for assessing the skill readiness of IT graduates. The test was conducted on a nationwide scale, with more than 33,000 students assessed across 188 universities throughout Pakistan, making it one of the most comprehensive evaluations of undergraduate IT competency ever undertaken at the national level.
The NSCT 2026 assessed candidates across a broad spectrum of computing and information technology domains, including: Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Data Structures, Computer Networks and Computing Fundamentals, Programming, Databases, Problem Solving and Analytics, Cybersecurity, Web Development, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics. Mr. Zain-ul-Abden demonstrated exceptional competency across all assessed domains, earning a cumulative score of 97/100 and securing the top position in the national ranking.
