SU allows students having attendance up to 30% to fill up online forms to appear in semester exams due from may 23
The Vice-Chancellor University of Sindh Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro Monday chaired an important meeting of the Deans Committee that maintained the 75% attendance as mandatory for the students to appear in the semester examninations scheduled to be held from May 23, 2022 but on account of different compulsions of the learners, it allowed the candidates having attendance up to 30% to fill up their online examination forms.
The committee unanimously decided that the students studying in different disciplines whose attendance was less than the required 75% and if their attendance would be up to 30%, they will be allowed to fill up the examination form and go for appearing in the papers.
According to the committee, the decision will not apply to students of the Institute of Law and the Faculty of Pharmacy, as these departments have their own set standards for attendance, under which these faculties will allow the concerned students to fill out examination forms.
It was also decided in the meeting that the departments where the courses were not completed, the classes of students studying in the morning & evening programs for the academic year 2022, their classes would continue till June 7, 2022 while their semester examinations would be held in August after the summer break.
On the occasion, SU Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro said that it was not necessary to give certificates only by taking exams, but the core objective of the varsity was to ensure the transfer of knowledge to the students in the real sense.
"The first year students whose courses have not been completed so far due to their delayed admissions, they will be taking the classes till the end of semester exams that is due from May 23", the Vice-Chancellor said.
He said that all the facilities including transport and hostel would continue to be available to the students of the first year morning and evening during their ongoing classes.
